It’s impossible to list all the visual design elements, tropes and world building that Blade Runner had on popular culture upon its initial release in 1982. Despite bombing in a most spectacular fashion Ridley Scott managed to literally redefined the future of sci-fi despite the atrocious Harrison Ford/Rick Deckard’s voice over. Here we look at the definitive version from 2007 that restores original scenes, removes others including said voice over and changes the ending in a manner that completely alters the meaning of the entire film.
